About Gwen Moran
Gwen Moran is a freelance writer and author of two books, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Business Plans and Build Your Own Home on a Shoestring (both Alpha Books, 2005). Before becoming a full-time writer and speaker, she owned Moran Marketing Associates, a marketing communications firm, for nearly a decade. Her firm’s exceptional growth and management practices were recognized when she was named a regional winner and national finalist in the United States Small Business Administration’s "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" awards in 1996.

She has taught marketing and public relations seminars and classes at area colleges as well as at high-profile education and industry events such as Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Conference on Corporate Communication, Small Business Administration's New Jersey Small Business Expo, the American Society of Journalists and Authors Conference, the Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association JASPER Awards Banquet and the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Network of New Jersey annual meeting.
Formerly a manager in promotion and marketing for Random House and Simplicity Pattern Company, both New York, Moran is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and has served on the university’s alumni board of directors.
